Netflix Recommendation Of The Week!

If you haven't watched Portlandia before then, while I'm not surprised, I'm quick to state that you are missing out. The show is relatively unknown to those who aren't big Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein or even Saturday Night Live fans but it really is worth a watch if you like more observational comedy.

Netflix Recommendation Of The Week!

Given that Grey's Anatomy is my all-time favourite show, I've been making desiring, googly eyes at Scandal for months. Written by Grey's creator, Shonda Rhimes, I knew the odds of me enjoying it were high but for some reason,  I just never found the time to start it. But the other day, finally, I did.

Kerry Washington plays Olivia Pope, a hard-to-please crisis manager who specialises in politically related cases. If you're being framed for something you didn't do, call Olivia Pope. If you find yourself in a compromising position that might threaten your career, call Olivia Pope. You see the pattern, here?

I'm not ready to say goodbye to True Blood!

*WARNING* Contains enormous amounts of gushing over a TV show and even more spoilers.

Despite being the creators of critically-acclaimed, fan-adored shows such as Game Of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire, HBO has received a LOT of hate over the past couple of years. It seems to be that many viewers are sick of seeing a show coming back year after year, a show that I am personally, still very fond of; True Blood.

Netflix Recommendation Of The Week!

After binge watching all of Friday-released season two within a day, I couldn't recommend all of you with a little more self-control than myself, anything other than Netflix original show Orange Is The New Black.

If you've watched the first season already, and for some unbeknownst reason to me, haven't started the second yet, then I wholeheartedly give you permission to start on the new series immediately. You can thank me later! If you haven't however, you're gonna need a little encouragement. I guarantee you though, once you're a few episodes in, you'll wonder why it took you so long to check it out.

What I'm Watching This Month...

Having watched the first episode when it aired (Sunday nights on Channel 4), and thoroughly enjoying it, I knew this was a series I was going to want to follow. I fell a bit behind but in the last week, have caught up with the ones I missed and am just amazed at how great this show is.

Nearly halfway into Season 1, I am very interested as to where the storyline is going to go. It has the perfect level of humour, intrigue and dark violence making watchers desperate to see the new episode after watching one. Every character is charismatic and likeable, meaning you find yourself rooting for not only the good guys but the bad guys too and that makes for a dynamic show.

What did we expect of the 'True Blood' finale?

*SPOILERS* - Episode 6x10 "Radioactive"

Last night, the season 6 finale of our favourite vamp show aired and as predicted, in true True Blood style left us on a massive cliffhanger. The whole season, based upon Bill embodying almighty Lilith and the human-Government uprising against all vamps, with a side-story of a supposedly deadly vampire/fae-cross named Warlow. Sounds like your typical HBO, "all things happening at once" plot, doesn't it? Well, you aren't wrong.

How excited are we to sink our teeth into Season 6 of True Blood?!

Season 5 of True Blood ended as their finales usually do, with trouble ensuing and a rather annoyingly big cliffhanger. The fifth season was probably the most confusing one we've seen of the series, with the main premise being Bill and Eric being captured by The Authority (and Bill turning into an evil vampire God yada yada).

That's right, we've seen witches, we've seen hidden faerie dimensions, but throw in some government-like action and us viewers don't know what the hell is going on! Now, I am being a little over-dramatic here, other stories that were also floating about in series 5 were Russell Edgington was once again on the loose and hellbent on creating havoc and stopping mainstreaming, Tara got turned into a vamp and Hoyt makes Jessica glamour him to forget her and Jason ever existed (boo!).
