A Good Day To Die Hared review: It's time to retire John McClane, Bruce!

Before I begin, let me just voice that I am a huge fan of the Die Hard franchise. John McClane is one of my favourite action heroes, purely because he isn't one. So different to that of Sly Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, he always used to find himself stumble across the trouble rather than swaggering in blazing a machine-gun.

He's funny, old school and sometimes made mistakes, he ran out of bullets, he said the wrong thing, but that's what made him real and likeable. A hero for the everyday man.

Nothing to do with Bram or Dracula but looks undeniably just as creepy comes new film Stoker. Nicole Kidman and Alice In Wonderland’s Mia Wasikowska star as Evelyn and India, a recently widowed mother and her daughter. When they go to stay with Uncle Charlie, a man India never even knew existed, she starts questioning why he really asked her and her mother to come and stay whilst also falling into a dangerous obsession with him. Looks like a weird one, but a good one.

In the year 2074, time travel WILL be invented but the government will immediately outlaw it. However, that doesn’t mean it’s gone. Taken over by the Mob, it becomes the most effective way of disposing of someone in the future. Loopers are essentially assassins, waiting for their targets to be zapped right in front of them, so they can simply shoot. However, the only way to keep the truth from coming out eventually, every looper must kill their future self, therefore eliminating the only tie-in with the murders. But a known time limit of life isn’t so appealing for all loopers, despite the consequences being far worse.
