Stoker
Nothing to do with Bram or Dracula but looks undeniably just as creepy comes new film Stoker. Nicole Kidman and Alice In Wonderland’s Mia Wasikowska
star as Evelyn and India, a recently widowed mother and her daughter. When they
go to stay with Uncle Charlie, a man India never even knew existed, she starts
questioning why he really asked her and her mother to come and stay whilst also
falling into a dangerous obsession with him. Looks like a weird one, but a good
one.
A Good Day To Die Hard
Bruce's fifth time reprising the role of John McClane, sees him travelling to Russia in this instalment to help his son, Jack who he thinks has gotten into some bad situations as of late. Shortly after arriving however, John discovers Jack is actually a CIA Operative working undercover to prevent a planned nuclear-weapon heist. As predicted, the duo then team up, fighting seemingly every Russian under the sun and spouting off puns and guns like there's no tomorrow. It will be cheesy, it will be over-the-top action but it's GOT to be seen!
I Give It A Year
I'm normally not a huge comedy fan, particularly when it comes to romance and marriage, there is nothing that hasn't been done before and sometimes the sickly-sweet happy endings can be nauseating, but this movie seems to be a little different. From the trailers, it almost gives the impression of a funny 500 Days Of Summer. An almost anti-romcom but a little less serious. It seems very awkward humour, and that, reminiscent of Bridesmaids, is something I personally find hilarious. The film follows Nat and Josh, chronicling the ups and downs of their first year of marriage. The cast list is pretty impressive and it's a British creation, gotta give your own a try!
Warm Bodies
I first heard of Warm Bodies years ago when casually reading what Nicholas Hoult was up to these days (as you do). When I first read the plot, I automatically thought it would be awful. It sounded like what the spawn of Shaun Of The Dead and Twilight would be if they combined, which may come as a surprise, didn't enthral me! But now I see more promotional material and have started seeing trailers for the movie, I have actually become intrigued. It looks far more tongue-in-cheek and comical than I initially thought it would, and it's humour seems almost reminiscent of something Tarantino-esque.
GUILTY PLEASURE: Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D
It's got Jeremy Renner in it. Need I say more. But seriously, it looks cheesy and a storyline taken from an age-old child's tale is always a tricky one to get right, but as long as audiences don't take this one too seriously and the 3D boasts lots of blood and guts, it'll be worth at least one viewing!
