Everything we know about "Bond 24" so far...

Skyfall director Sam Mendes took to the stage at Pinewood Studios last week to release some long awaited news on the new movie via official live-stream announcement. Here's the breakdown of what we found out...

The Classics
Returning to the franchise will of course be Daniel Craig as Bond, but after the staggering success of Skyfall, a few more faces will be seen again. Naomie Harris will be reprising her role as Miss Moneypenny, Ralph Fiennes is back (in place of Judi Dench this time) as the new M and Ben Whishaw will be rounding off the familiar faces playing Q once again.

The Newbies
Sherlock's Andrew Scott, Léa Seydoux (Blue Is The Warmest Colour) and Christoph Waltz are all confirmed as being part of the upcoming movie. Waltz has been said to be playing a baddie which was to be expected, but Scott's role somewhat surprised viewers that are used to him being more villainous, as he's apparently playing an agent on Bond's side. However, that hasn't stopped the speculation that this may just be a red herring for his character's real motives. Seydoux is said to be playing a Bond Girl, who's name has been announced as Madeleine Swann.

Dave Bautista, fresh off the success of Guardians Of The Galaxy is also joining the roster and with the combination of confirmed name of 'Mr Hinx' and those bulging muscles, we've got our money on him making an impressive henchman. Monica Belucci has also been said to be playing another Bond Girl in the film. Thoughts are that she may be the bad antithesis for Seydoux's most likely, good Swann.

The Car
Okay so whilst it's not very exciting, it's still pretty cool... unsurprisingly, it's an Aston Martin. But this time, it's the new DB10. Now, THAT'S pretty slick.

The Name
Possibly the most hotly-anticipated aspect of the new movie was it's title, as it indicates so much about the plot and where we will see James Bond going, and it's now been announced that Bond 24 will be called 'Spectre'.

The Plot
So when Skyfall was announced as the previous film's name, the storyline was somewhat ambiguous  still as Bond fans weren't completely sure what it meant. It was a fresh title, with no obvious connection to Bond's literary origin so future audiences were fairly clueless up until general release. Spectre is already different. Back in Fleming's novels, Spectre was the fictional terrorist organisation, lead by super villain and evil mastermind, Blofeld, who was one of Bond's arch-enemies throughout the whole series. (No word as to who will appear in Spectre AS Blofeld yet, but I suppose they have to hold some information back to maintain an element of surprise).

The Release
It has been confirmed that the release date in the UK will officially be October 23rd next year. So, after all this exciting news, we'll just sit back and wait, I guess. Thanks Mendes. Oh, the struggle!

Now all that's left to wonder is who's going to be singing the theme?! I personally could imagine someone like Sia stepping up. Anybody got any other guesses?
